garage sale trail

Garage Sale Trail is a national, people-powered program that’s about sustainability, creativity and fun.

By organising communities around Australia to hold sales on the same day we aim to reduce waste to landfill, enable community connections, provide a platform for fundraising, inspire creativity and stimulate local economies.

By 2014 it had grown from an event held in one suburb in Sydney to a truly national program involving over 300,000 Australians at between 60 – 80 councils across the country.

The 2016 Garage Sale Trail was the sixth national campaign and took place across Australia on 22nd October.

Across Australia, over $10 million worth of items were sold and over 300,000 people shopped. All the member councils in the SMRC region took part this year. The Garage Sale Trail is supported by the Waste Authority of Western Australia. We encourage everyone to get on board and have a garage sale at your place on October 21 2017. It’s free for sellers and shoppers!
