Garage Sale Trail is a national, people-powered program that’s about sustainability, creativity and fun.
By organising communities around Australia to hold sales on the same day the aim is to reduce waste to landfill, enable community connections, provide a platform for fundraising, inspire creativity and stimulate local economies.
After 9 years, Garage Sale Trail has grown faster than the amount of waste at your local tip. Thanks to the support of over 146 councils across the country, last year there were more than 15,000 garage sales over the weekend with over 400,000 Australians hitting the streets to browse over 2 million secondhand items. The average household made over $300, community groups raised an average of $650 and schools made a very healthy $1500!
The Garage Sale Trail is supported by the Waste Authority of Western Australia. We encourage everyone to get on board and have a garage sale at your place on October 19th and 20th 2019. It’s free for sellers and shoppers!
