Containers for change
Whether you’re keen to earn a bit of extra cash, raise money for your local sports club or even donate to your favourite charity, you can now start earning 10-cents for every eligible drink container collected for the Containers for Change program. Eligible containers include most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard beverage containers which are typically consumed outside the home.
How it works:
- Collect eligible containers
- Return your containers to a depot, reverse vending machine, pop up refund point or via contactless bag drop
- Earn a refund or donate the funds to charity
The introduction of container deposits schemes in other states have resulted in a dramatic reduction in litter and a huge increase in recycling rates. In WA over 1 million containers were returned through the program on the first day!
